Lee Wetherington Homes owes our success in large measure to the communities in which we do business. From the earliest days of our existence, we have made it a practice to give back. Whether it be with disadvantaged youth through The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County or to State Parks like Oscar Scherer in Venice, we have a strong social conscience that starts with our founder and extends through our entire company.
Involvement culminating in the naming of the Fruitville Road location after Lee Wetherington. The Lee Wetherington Boys and Girls Clubs of Sarasota County is the largest in the state of Florida.
From 2002 to the present, Lee Wetherington has given over $3 million to the Lee Wetherington Foundation.
Since 2002, Lee Wetherington Companies has provided marketing and other financial support to Oscar Scherer State Park exceeding $90,000 to date.
In January 2002, Lee Wetherington met with representatives from the Fruitville Public Library and its not-for-profit support group to develop a productive use for the empty space just outside its back doors.
From 1992-1997, Lee Wetherington organized and co-chaired the first Day of Sharing.
From 2002-2005, Lee Wetherington Companies fielded a team for the annual American Heart Association Heart Walk.
